10.10pm Cujo

A new breed of Britrock beast; a band reared on chunky lumberjack shirt 90s American rock but, unlike many of their contemporaries, with a distinctly British bite. Here is a band that won’t be content to be the Limey Papa Roach, they’ll not rest until Papa Roach are the Yank Cujo. And here is a band with a history that makes Bleak House look like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

9.30pm Bruise

Bruise are Isobel Morris (guitar and vocals) and Jim Kimberley (drums, vocals & samples)

Self taught and self educated Isobels glorious open tuned style is unlike any one else. Her maverick songs are propelled by the driving groove of Jim Kimberley, and like magicians, while you're trying to work out how they do it – they steal your heart. A little bit Patti Smith, a little bit Nico but then again totally their own.

Bruise have earned themselves the reputation of performers of rare distinction. “Inspired a rash of sticky staines”…. “Absolutely.Jaw.Dropping” according to Logo Magazine. “Stunning throughout…unique and brilliant” Leeds Music Scene. “My God, it's like having Fleetwood Mac in the studio” Island FM.

Bruise have played to audiences from York to Guernsey, Bath to Belgum and shared the bill with Feeder, Reef and Terrovision, supported Hawkwind, The Levellers and Glen Tillbrook (Squeeze). See them live and understand the glorious gritty pioneering pop that is Bruise.

8.50pm Fern

“If Fern were pinned down and forced to define themselves they'd probably say they were an indie guitar band, but that tells you absolutely nothing about the delight Fern brings. It's that ol' X Factor again, bringing together the ambition of My Vitriol with the delicate touch of the Veils, wrapped up in a coating of old school anthemics” ‘Logo Magazine’

“This London three-piece sounds like quality musicians who generate a sort of Beck-ish, Muse-ish type sound. There’s a quality modern production on the first track ‘Spirit’ with a more bandy sound on ‘I can give you more’ and ‘Shameless’ The songs are rocking with an ‘Oscar nodding his head’ rating. Good Luck Fellas” ‘Rhythm Magazine’

8.10pm Demeter

Over the past 12 months Demeter have written and recorded their debut album and via their maze like web site (link) have built up a 20,000 strong fan base.

Demeter are creating something modern and original. A collaboration by musicians and artists from New York, London, Helsinki and Barcelona their music is undoubtedly emotional, conscious and dark.

It creates a landscape for the listener, sublime and intense. Female vocals, electronics, piano, guitars, drums and bass.

Described as launching the new sound of 'Art-Nouveau Rock' their music has inspired film makers and artists to create a visual backdrop to their mesmerizing live shows.

Demeter's originality and an ever growing following prove that there is still life in music refusing to be strangled by the music business and that corporate suit wearing coke heads don’t have the power anymore.

If the music you are searching for is like something you've already heard then forget what you read above, move along please, nothing to see here.
