WRITING'S ON THE WALL

“Close the door. Write with no one looking over your shoulder. Don't try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It's the one and only thing you have to offer.”
Barbara Kingsolver

That's right, people of Leeds, Glasswerk Leeds wants to hear what you have to say. About music.

Glasswerk Leeds is currently on the look-out for individuals who wish to write reviews of both recorded and live music. Whether you are a budding journalist wanting a bit of practice, someone who's interested in the music industry and wanting a bit of an insight, or a music student eager to hear what the breaking music scene hold's, we may just have an opportunity for you.

We are looking to recruit several reviewers to help cover music in the Leeds area – this would be in the form of CDs sent to yourselves from the central Glasswerk office, as well as guestlist entry to see bands play in the local Leeds area. The work would be unpaid, but CDs would be yours to keep and live gig experiences can never be taken from you.

Who knows? You might discover a career path that you had previously discounted. Along the way, you might even be invited to try your hand at News Editor, or even Editor itself!?

If you are interested in reviewing for Glasswerk Leeds, please send an email to: Jack Cook: mail with an example of your writing ability.
