The Last Shadow Puppets – The Age Of Understatement

Someone wants to express their love for old western theme tunes. Although the lyrics are not quite what you might expect from what is jazzed up western gone bananas, there is much to enjoy in this debut single.

Alex Turner (Artic Monkeys) and Miles Kane (The Rascals) have done an affable enough effort here. It will hardly set the world on fire, but it may well put a cheeky smirk on it. How serious a venture this new collaboration turns out to be remains to be seen. The press copy didn’t even include any of the B-Sides which apparently includes a Bowie cover.
