Dead Letter Office – Chairkickers/The Comeback Girl

‘Chairkickers / The Comeback Kid’ is the new double single by UK 5-piece indie rock band, Dead Letter Office.

First up is ‘Chairkickers’ and it has an anthemic feel to it. The song is wonderfully arranged with a great balance of indie guitar sound, underlying synth and well considered vocals. Coming in at over 4 minutes it’s not just radio-friendly fodder either.

‘The Comeback Kid’ is the second of the songs and again it has a strong feel to it, although not as much as with ‘Chairkickers’. There’s something more repetitive about it, but I’m splitting hairs now. Indie rock, sure, but there’s an underlying 80’s influence in there too.

The band are getting plenty of attention at the moment, and quite rightly so, and major label support may not be too far away if they want it. Check out their myspace page for more songs and links to official downloads as well, and a UK tour to follow. Give it a listen.
