Morning Call – A Little Late

Winding melodic indie, a bit of The Verve styled hanging backdrop and some Lancastrian grit means that this debut single from Blackburn’s Morning Call could be right on time.‘Too Little Too Late’ pushes home that weary small town pessimism with help from the shaking, mid-tempo percussion of Carlos and the bobbing but slightly weary vocals of Tony, who also provides the sliding bass lines.

A sonic, symphony of an intro’ that flows into a grinding guitar jam and a more streetwise vocal touch, lends a rougher coating to B-side, ‘The Last Laugh’. Coming across as a four person form of the Count Of Monte Christo, Morning Call make revenge sound tasty and inviting. It is a dish they aren’t serving cold either.
