Guns ‘N’ Roses – Chinese Democracy

Rather than salivate through a prolonged introduction to the oft put appearance of this long over due release, let’s just get right to it.

Firstly, this is a Guns N’ Roses song. It sounds like Guns N’ Roses and feels like them. This is not Guns N’ Roses trying to fit into a new market. It is the band with their original sound intact.

So the long wait is probably a blessing in disguise. If this single came out 10 years ago it probably would have been met with disdain for not being new and just being old. Today we have had years of new stuff being around for so long that itself is starting to sound old – Even retro pastiche bands are becoming tiresome. So it’s like fresh air to the lungs to get a band from back in the day doing what they do best. Almost comparable to when Kate Bush came out of hiding after a 12 year gap and she provided a double album that sounded like her prime material… Like the 12 years in between never occurred. This is that exact same thing here.
Gone? Forgotten? Guns N’ Roses never left!
