Eels Return With First New Album In 4 Years

EELS will release their first new album since 2005’s acclaimed double BLINKING LIGHTS AND OTHER REVELATIONS. The new album, HOMBRE LOBO, set for June 2nd, 2009 on Vagrant Records, features 12 new songs recorded in EELS leader Mark Oliver Everett, aka E’s studio in Los Angeles.

Eels last release of original material was the epic ‘Blinking Lights And Other Revelations’ back in 2005, but they released a Best Of – Essential Eels’ and B-Sides & Rarities record – ‘Useless Trinkets’ at the start of last year along with a book called ‘Things The Grandchildren Should Know’ which was written by the band’s leader Mark Everett (also known as ‘E’). E also featured in a BBC Four documentary called ‘Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives’ which followed the singer on his journey of discovery across America to learn about the father he never knew, HUGH EVERETT III, the quantum mechanic.
