It’s probably no surprise that they are fans of the likes of “The Clash” and the “Yeah Yeah Yeahs” with their style having such a raw style to it. The music and vocals have be laid down and then stripped of anything resembling Studio quality mainstream releases get. What you get is music and artistry that has been toyed around with to sound very surreal and yet as fresh as possible.
The closest they come to anything mainstream is in fact probably the single “Pop Chart,” but although it’s a lot more normally fun (like a harsh B-52s track) they don’t sell out their style for the sake of grabbing attention.
The album becomes all the more obscure as it progresses, but never has any sense of losing itself.
