Alberta Cross - Broken Side Of Time
Album Review

Alberta Cross – Broken Side Of Time

Rock-Blues sounds pretty good when channelled through Alberta Cross. So is the harmonic and Gospel Organ fuelled beauty of their first song “Song 3Three Blues.”

There is then a sudden flip and we are travelling on a faster pace with a lot of beats, distortion and grinding axes in the very lively “ATX.” After this the tone of the album jitters around all over the place. They can’t seem to decide if they are country friendly, or hardcore rockers with an experimental grudge against the world.

Either way with a very Thom Yorke sounding lead they have something fairly special. The results do vary. The most striking is probably the very moody “Rise From the Shadows.” A bass lead slow track that simmers consistently until it finally reaches the final stretch where it lets it all out. A wonderful creation and a trend that the band should not upset in their career.
