Levi Roots – RedHot

What seems like a fairly generic Reggae album actually has a few tricks up its sleeve.

The music is as ordinary reggae as you will find. It’s familiar, comfortable and as easy to follow as music is ever going to get. There won’t be any awards handed out for original music here, but the lyric work has really gone the distance here.
But having crossed paths with the likes of Mandela and Dionne Warwick and several decades’ worth of work behind him, it isn’t a surprise that he is writing noteworthy lyrics and being nominated for best Reggae performer.

It is still an acquired taste, but this is definitely some of the best and most accessible reggae music you’ll likely find.
