The Bang Bang Club – Chemistry

Fuzzed up funk dance with pop touches a plenty, builds up to the 80s pop veined chorus of ‘Chemistry’. It’s a debut single that will have radio listeners humming and muttering the chorus at least 20 times, before they find out who the song is by?

The simple, but effective lyrics communicate a sense of feeling lost and confused in a relationship. They are delivered with distance, yet belief, by lead vocalist John and is embolden by some smoothly delivered, stammering backing that is as equally irrating as it is catchy.

Isn’t that really the secret to good pop music?
The Bang Bang Club, possess a similar edge to The Departure in their early days. This London act, come across in this snippet anyway, as being motivated by a desire to remind us that not all pop music of this elk belongs on a Channel 5 show entitled; ‘What was really wrong with the 80s?’ That is, when the execs at that respected channel get round to bundling it together.
