Britney Spears – Hold It Against Me

She’s back. If your wondering who this is about, who is the Queen of comebacks? Britney Spears. After a short break, the teen idol returns with not only all of her hair, but sounding better than ever before. ‘Hold it Against Me’ is a strong electronic dance anthem that really rips apart what inhabits the mainstream minefield today.

The song starts with constant punch beats that echoes throughout the song which helps to pump the intense momentum all ready to climax into the chorus. The chorus is like an ecstasy fuelled tornado that brings down everything in its way. This is so sexy that it makes your toes churn and sends shock waves of erotica through your virgin bones. The electrifying and very addictive sounds are perfect for clubs across the world, whether in ‘Miami or Ibiza’.

The song is so refreshing to the male dominated charts at the moment and is so much cooler than any noise pollution JLS and peers make. The songs still doesn’t lose the ‘pop’ factor as it’s like a bubblegum which eventually pops, and all the contents in that bubble, does make a mess. Compared to ‘Only Girl (in the World)’ says that Britney is aware of her competition at what works but continues to make her own original and unique stamp on it. The songs shouldn’t be sneered at as unbeknown to the record; it stands proudly next to Britney classics such as: ‘Womanizer’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Gimme More’ and this unstoppable dub-step club smash brings a refined angelic grace that sees Britney dipping her manicured toes into new territory and pushing the boundaries of dance pop once more. Your library is incomplete with this one…

Personally, I’m in the generation were Britney was the ideal girlfriend or trend setter and it was strange to see her half dead, fickle corpse being gorged on by the vultures that is the media. The negativity surrounding her is as needed as a third nipple! But finally it is great to see her as one of the few artists that have withstood the harsh beatings of the media and the music industry. Hopefully this will shape her into becoming anything else she hasn’t already touched on!
