O'Death - Bugs
Album Review

O’Death – Bugs

New Yorker’s O’Death seek to garner interest in their forthcoming third album, with a soothing trickling, tempo switching, Simon & Garfunkel morris dancing with Belle & Sebastian veined single, ‘Bugs’. Ambient humming filters in some warmth that wraps around the Stuart Murdoch mirroring vocals of Greg Jamie, illuminating the contemplative, life assessing lyrics.
There’s a hint that an album of infectious folk pop could be on the cards. It will be the perfect remedy for a band that has had its fair share of troubles over the last year, with drummer Rogers-Berry being diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. It is Rogers-Berry’s toe tapping percussion and Robert Pycior’s stirring, winding violin touch that adds some requisite energy, in contrast with the sorrowful nature of the tune.
