After much speculation yesterday about the rumoured Macca appearance with Nirvana, we’re pleased to report that they actually jammed out a brand new track which is absolutely killer and left the Nirvana and Beatles tracks on the shelf.
Paul McCartney took the stage last night at the 12-12-12 Sandy Benefit concert in New York City with the remaining members of Nirvana (Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and “unofficial” fourth member Pat Smear) and performed a brand new song written by Dave Grohl and Paul McCartney titled “Cut Me Some Slack”.
“Tonight I played with Paul McCartney, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear” said Dave Grohl “We did a song that we wrote together. It’s a song that we wrote and recorded, no one has ever heard it before so nobody knows it exists. I think people were expecting us to do a Beatles song or a Nirvana song but when I first called Paul to see if he would come jam with us none of us wanted to do a Beatles song or a Nirvana song, we wanted to do a new song so we wrote and recorded a new song in a day and it’s heavy as fuck.”
