On the back of their second EP launching on the 3rd December, Feldspar proudly present their new video ‘The Flat and Paper Sky’ to accompany the title track. The video, directed by North London filmmaker Craig Heathcote, captures unusual events occurring in everyday environments. The seven vignettes that comprise the video are the perfect accompaniment to Feldspar’s haunting a capella track.
The video focuses on the human face and explores the range of emotions that can be expressed without words, without ‘explanation’. Each character has a different story – the old woman being tattooed in a church, the distracted parents ignoring their excited child, the couple cutting paper shapes. Each story seems instantly recognisable, but also mysterious. It is this mystery that connects them all and gives them their humanity.
The track is taken from Feldspar’s new EP The Flat and Paper Sky Vol II which was released on December 3rd. The band’s first EP, released in September, was extremely well received- give ‘Feldspar The Flat and Paper Sky’ a Google – and led to backing by Radio 2 and Music Week, as well as niche print areas such as Maverick and Rock n Reel, with single ‘The Rest’ hitting ‘Single of the Week’ on The 405.
With slots at several festivals firmly in the pipeline, Feldspar will be taking their exceptionally accomplished live act to a large new audience in 2013.
