Derby rockers BuryTheLadybird have a new name. The exciting young four piece band will now be known as Eva Plays Dead – and they have a debut album coming out soon.
Eva Plays Dead have been recognized for their powerful female vocals, edgy lyrics, catchy guitar rock riffs and their powerhouse rhythm section. The band, made up of Tiggy Dockerty (vocals), Matt Gascoyne (guitar), Zach Shannon (bass) and Seb Boyse (drums), makes audiences across the country question how just four people can make such a noise.
The Derby band have made themselves an established, well-known act across the UK due to their hard working ethos and commitment to constantly tour up and down the country, playing at venues and festivals both large and small. However, leading up to where they are now, they have been through several changes of line up and musical direction so with a name change for the end of 2012 to suit the ‘final product’, an album to release in March through Artifex Records and a tonne of promotion leading up to it, the four piece rock band plan to carry on doing what they did as BuryTheLadybird and take their music to the road.
Having already released two very successful singles through Artifex Records with accompanying music videos on YouTube, which lead to the band being featured on the MySpace homepage, the Muzu TV homepage as ‘Muzu Recommends: Breaking Artist’ and the homepage of Glasswerk, alongside a collection of support from radio stations across the UK, including Kerrang! Radio, and great reviews from a range of webzines, the band is very excited to release our debut album, of which the title will be announced soon.
From classic influences ranging from Guns ‘N’ Roses, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Rancid, Black Flag and Motorhead to modern rock bands including Foo Fighters, The Wonder Years, Heaven’s Basement and local favourites LostAlone, combined with the storytelling of great jazz artists which influence Tiggy’s lyrics including Etta James, The Rat Pack and Ella Fitzgerald, the band have created their own, unmistakable brand of rock music. Powerful vocals, full throttle rock and feisty guitar riffs sum up the band.
