The Wanted ticket demand one third of 1D despite 200% surge

Boy-band The Wanted have seen a 200% surge in demand, ahead of tickets going on sale this Saturday for their 2014 shows. However, according to ticket marketplace Seatwave, three times as many fans want to see One Direction.

The rivalry between The Wanted and X Factor darlings One Direction is famous amongst pop fans, having over-spilled onto Twitter earlier this year.

The bands have since reconciled, however the news that there’s three times the amount of demand to see One Direction compared to The Wanted may reignite the feud.

Louise Mullock, spokesperson for Seatwave, said:

“The Wanted have seen a huge surge in ticket demand as fans eagerly await the chance to get their hands on tickets for their upcoming 2014 shows. However, it seems that despite this surge, they are still playing second fiddle to the seemingly unstoppable One Direction.”
