Fresh Chops: The Outdoor Type

The Antipodes are fairly bursting at the seams with new artists at the moment and today The Outdoor Type prove they’ve got the stuff to compete with the best Australia has to offer on the international scene.

New single ‘Are You Happy?’ is available as a free download from Soundcloud and ripples with an Americana summer-sheen that’s caught up in an intriguing blend of Britishness and Australian culture, at times recalling the poetic twinklings of The Cure, but also paying homage to the great mid-western US songwriters.

There’s not much more info on the Melbourne native at time of writing, but with a hefty chunk of plays already on this debut track we’re expecting to hear a bit more from these newcomers over 2015.
