Filmwerk Podcast #184 – Ridley Scott Part 1

Time now for us to tackle Ridley Scott in this first part retrospective. We skip Alien pretty much as it was covered previously in two podcasts we have done already, (Podcast No. 6 with Steven and Chris Droney and more recently in our No. 131 Podcast Alien Vs Predator Part 1 With Steven and Ben).

But we don’t skip much in the way of details when it comes to our lengthy discussions on Blade Runner and Legend looking at a range of visual delights. Both parties talk about their own personal highlights, the various cuts of each film and the soundtracks. Steven compares Greek singer Demis Roussos to a Bad Guy from Pulp Fiction, and we marvel over some of the best effects work in the business.

Ben gets a bit worried about Tom Berenger’s accent in Someone To Watch Over Me, and Steven worries about the use of OTT punch effects in this as well as in Black Rain.
