Brick Lane Jazz Festival announce details of individual day line-ups

Brick Lane Jazz Festival are thrilled to announce further details about their impeccably curated festival happening over various iconic east London venues in April. Individual day lineups are now unveiled with further details outlined below.

Unmissable headliners across the weekend include some of the finest names in Jazz and beyond right now. Kicking off Friday night’s proceedings will be North London multi-hyphenate Lex Amor – a rapper, producer, sound designer, engineer, and DJ. Her characterful slant on hip-hop leans into the festival’s commitment to diversifying its 2023 bill and championing the rapid rise of jazz-rap and is destined to kick off the festival’s opening evening in style. Amor’s debut mixtape, ‘Government Tropicana (GT)’ has garnered close to a million streams across all platforms, and Lex has also been featured on esteemed channels such as COLORS and Boiler Room.

Following on Saturday night, Village Underground host Secretsundaze, London’s seminal party institution and the brainchild of legendary DJ and production duo, Giles Smith and James Priestley. Always sticking to their M.O. of “following hearts not hype,” the pair have carved a unique, consistent space over the last two decades amid the capital’s shapeshifting late-night landscape.

With a weekend bringing together the very best of London’s jazz sphere on the iconic site of the Truman Brewery, a very special act is needed to bring the party to a close. With this in mind, Brick Lane Jazz Festival are proud to programme jazz royalty Sarathy Korwar as Sunday’s headliner. US-born, Indian-raised and with musical talents that transcend the living realm, Sarathy has established himself as one of the most original and compelling voices in the UK jazz scene. His style braids jazz and Indian classical music with elements of hip-hop and trance in a way that embodies London’s rich and diverse culture, and is perfectly at home on 2023’s Brick Lane Jazz Festival line-up.
