Lil Nas X has been announced for NOS Alive 2023.

Taking place in Passeio Marítimo de Algés, Lisbon, Portugal, NOS Alive has become a gem in the European festival calendar – attracting the biggest global talent to the goreous setting of Lisbon in the Summer.

Celebrating its 15th year, NOS Alive 2023 is one of the festival’s most ambitious lineups to date, with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Sam Smith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lizzo, Queens of the Stone Age and many more set to take the stage across the weekend 6-8th July 2023.

Joining the lineup today is rap icon Lil Nas X, with NOS Alive 2023 set to be his first ever show in Portugal.

Hailing from from Atlanta, Georgia, Lil Nas X is already dubbed as “an internationally recognized phenomenon” by Billboard magazine.

It was in 2019 that he was catapulted to international fame with the release of “Old Town Road”, which would become a turning point in the music industry – shattering gender conceptions and norms, topping the charts and going viral all over the world. The Billy Ray Cyrus remix of the song became the longest-running #1 in Billboard Hot 100 history with 19 consecutive weeks at the top of the chart. As if that weren’t enough, it was also awarded 16x Platinum making it the most certified song in RIAA history along with two GRAMMYs® wins.

After his eclectic EP 7, with the singles “Panini” (6x Platinum) and “Rodeo” (2x Platinum), came the hit that changed the cultural landscape in March 2021. “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” , the queer anthem that sparked much-needed dialogue around the world, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 1 and stayed captive at the likes of Spotify’s Global Chart for over a month. In September of that same year, his debut album, Montero, was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2022 GRAMMYs® and was highly acclaimed by critics.

Needless to say, Lil Nas X’s appearance at NOS Alive is highly-anticipated, and is set to be a groundbreaking performance at the festival.

Tickets for NOS Alive 2023 are on sale now, and start at just £66.
