INTRODUCING: The Bazaars

There’s something about the North of England that breeds a certain stony-faced kind of creativity, proven time and time again in the quality and quantity of bands the region churns out.

The Bazaars are no different – childhood friends Jonny Woolnough, Tom McGeorge, Jonny Pugh and Paul Brown released their debut single ‘I Want You Dead’ soon after performing their first gig in their native Leeds with the band spending much of its first incarnation together touring the UK extensively, supporting the likes of other notable Leeds based bands including Embrace, Kaiser Chiefs and The Blueskins.

They have a bizarre but vibrant brew of dark, Northern pure pop with a brooding soul draped in melody, as evident on latest video for Girls In Time above.

The Bazaars debut album (including soon to be released single Girls In Time) will be released through Tri-Tone/PIAS in early 2013 under the The Bazaars own label Tomartyrs.
