Glasswerk presents: THE BROADCAST

As part of our new monthly Editorial features we’re proud to be bringing Liverpool’s first interactive radio show to the blog for a monthly takeover. In the first episode we bring you an exclusive live session from songwriter Ady Suleiman.

INCOMING TRANSMISSION.

The Broadcast takes place monthly at The Shipping Forecast and is a conduit for the best of the cities up and coming bands, as well as a creative outlet for the founders of the project.

“The Broadcast was born from wanting to promote the wealth of local talent, in a local space – so local (though not exclusively) that people can hear what they might otherwise be missing.” says co-founder Xander Berkeley “There was nothing else, that we knew of, like it (at least in Merseyside), and it seemed like a good way of promoting the scene and its music.”

“Although there is an emphasis on locality, our presence on the internet means we can put the Liverpool sounds out there to anyone in the world who so wishes to look, or stumble upon them. We do it live as its a bit more fun that way, and it means other people can come and watch the live sessions, instead of these artists just playing to 3 guys in a dark room.

The Shipping Forecast is a great location for this, as we situate ourselves on the top floor in Percy Gulliver’s Print Shop where we are out of the way of the hustle and bustle downstairs (which is handy for recording the show) but it also means people can come up and get involved,or stay downstairs but still get to hear and enjoy the music.

Give the shows a listen, watch the videos, come down and see it live, and if you hear a song you like make sure you go and find out more about that band or artist, as that’s what its all about really.”
