Edinburgh’s The 10:04s release their next single, ‘Lights Out’ as a free download on 12 December.
‘Lights Out’ (produced by Tony Doogan – Belle and Sebastian, Snow Patrol, Mogwai, Super Furry Animals, Dirty Pretty Things – and recorded at Castle of Doom Studios in Glasgow) will be available as a package backed with previous single ‘SOS’ (originally released in February) so that’s two singles for a limited time for the price of well, nothing….not a penny. Can’t say fairer than that.

The single closes a great year for the band – one in which they’ve received critical acclaim and radio support; packed out the Liquid Rooms and sold out Electric Circus in advance for their single launch in their hometown; supported the likes of The View, Kassidy and We Were Promised Jetpacks; and been main support for The Cribs at Haddow Fest, where they played at a packed-to-the-rafters HMV Picturehouse and one of the most mental crowds Edinburgh’s ever seen. No, really.
And it gets better yet…’SOS’ has been chosen by the hugely influential US news channel CNN to be the soundbed for a special programme on Edinburgh to be aired worldwide (on CNN International) in December.
The CNN special on Edinburgh is part of their CNNGo series and airs on the 12th (10:30 am), 15th (5:30 am) and 16th December (1:30 pm), before being repeated in January and appearing online at link. Quite the exposure for an unsigned act from Edinburgh.
The 10:04s are currently recording tracks for their debut album and will be announcing tour dates in the New Year.
