The hit Saturday night TV show is about to be shaken up by Dear Superstar‘s frontman and notorious hell raiser Micky Satiar.
Just when you thought the PR barrel couldn’t be scraped any deeper, Micky Satiar has recorded an episode of ITV1’s dating show Take Me Out hosted by Paddy McGuiness. With a legendary touring history supporting the likes of Motley Crue, Guns N Roses and being major festival favourites for the past few years, the glitz and glamour of prime time television certainly isn’t where you would usually find a rock n roller, so what was behind this bizarre choice?
“When I was asked to be on the show, I knew it would put me up for a lot of criticism and controversy. But I figured it would be fun whatever the outcome and several million viewers getting a taste of some British rock n roll can’t be a bad thing!”
Things didn’t go quite to plan for Micky however, when he clashed with the producers of the show when his humour didn’t match theirs. Not one to shy away from controversy Micky gave the producers a headache with his ‘killer question’. In an earlier video clip the girls had seen a glimpse inside Micky’s flat that has quite a lot of pink décor. The question Micky wanted to ask was:
“So you’ve seen inside my flat and can see that I like the colour “pink” and my skin tone is obviously quite “brown”…. So what’s your favourite?….”
ITV1’s producers slammed the question as being too risky for the prime time show’s early evening slot and forced Micky to re-think his question.
Micky said: “Everybody knows how inappropriate I am, but it’s not as though I was being interviewed for News at Ten! The killer question I used is pretty lame in comparison and both Paddy and I are laughing at it on screen not because it’s funny but because it’s so embarrassing. But I met some amazing people, had a wicked time on the Isle of Fernandos and have totally no regrets!”
Dear Superstar has just finished a successful UK headline tour and release a new single ‘Change Yesterday’ on December 3rd. The video has already received over 17,500 YouTube views and is now on regular TV circulation. The band is currently writing new material that they are recording in early 2013.
