Mike Todd, bassist in American band Coheed & Cambira has been arrested for allegedly robbing a pharmacy in the States.
The Hollywood Reporter (link) claims that the Attleboro, Mass. police department responded to the report of a robbery at 1PM in the state.
“Upon arrival, it was learned that a male had threatened a pharmacist with a bomb threat and demanded Oxycontin,” police told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement. “The male was given six bottles of pain pills.”
The story goes, he was then seen by a passerby getting into a taxi destined for the Comcast Center, where his band were due to open for Soundgarden that night.
Bassist Todd was arrested and charged with armed robbery and possession of a class B controlled substance, and is being held in custody.
Coheed & Cambira released the following statement on their website:
“Michael Todd was arrested today on what we consider very serious charges and therefore he will not be finishing up the current tour… Wes Styles, longtime member of the Coheed family, will take on bass duties starting tomorrow for the remaining dates. No shows will be canceled.
“We are surprised to say the least and will address the situation with Michael after the tour. For now, we just want to have a great time out here and finish with some killer shows in Boston, Poughkeepsie, Quebec City and Halifax.”
