Welsh stars LOSTPROPHETS made history on Monday 12th Oct by becoming one of few musicians to ever be invited to speak at Oxford University’s prestigious Union. They join the list of celebrities who have spoken, which includes the Dalai Lama, Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, Albert Einstein, Malcolm X, Michael Jackson and twelve British Prime Ministers.
The Union attracts figures from all walks of life and continues to maintain its unparalleled reputation for international guests and speakers at the inner sanctum of some of the world’s finest minds.
Mke Lewis, guitarist, noted “It was great to do something different. Speaking at the Union gave us an opportunity to step outside our comfort zones and speak about our experiences in the band over the past 10 years and beyond in front of an academic audience. We're still chuckling at the fact that we've now spoken on the same stage as Einstein, Malcolm X and many of the most influential people of the past 150 or so years – it was really such an honour to be asked to participate.
We had a great time hanging out after the talk, chatting with the students and having a drink the Union bar. Thanks to everyone that came and the Oxford Union for inviting us.”
