Suede will play an intimate show at London’s Bush Hall on October 27 to celebrate the launch of their new Best Of album, released on November 1. This is a rare opportunity to see the band play in such a small venue ahead of their show at the O2 Arena on December 7. Tickets are on sale 9am Friday 8th October.
Earlier this year, Suede returned triumphantly from their hiatus, playing three incredible and critically acclaimed shows including the Royal Albert Hall in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. The shows were hailed as a career high:
“Suede have never sounded this brutal, so determined; the best British punk, rock n roll, sex-pop-glam band of the past 20 years. Many of the diehards present proclaimed this to be the best Suede gig they’ve ever seen”. NME
“Hugely influential…they sound better than they did at their commercial peak” The Guardian.
“Astonishing return to the spotlight” Independent on Sunday.
“Sensational” The Times
“Suede had lost none of its energy 17 years on…a timeless slice of euphoric indie rock” Evening Standard
“Suede find the old spark and swagger” The Observer
Suede were famously proclaimed as ‘The Best New Band In Britain’ on the cover of Melody Maker before they released their debut CD, ‘The Drowners’, in 1992. The claim was cemented after their debut self-titled album was awarded the Mercury Music Prize. During that time the group effectively instigated a new focus on British guitar music which had been largely eclipsed by grunge before their emergence. Their inexorable rise saw them become one of the biggest groups in the country, a success which was replicated in many countries around the world.
