Susan Boyle To Perform On Dancing With The Stars

The Scottish singing sensation is scheduled to appear on the live show on Tuesday (05.10.10), according to gossip website TMZ.com.

According to reports she will sing a rendition of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ – which has famously been covered by a host of artists including Jeff Buckley, k.d. Lang and Alexandra Burke – on the ballroom dancing competition.

Susan’s appearance on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ comes in the wake of her cancelled performance on ‘America’s Got Talent’.

The 49-year-old star – who shot to fame on UK talent show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ – was due to sing a version of Lou Reed’s track ‘Perfect Day’ with a 100-piece children's choir on September 9 but the performance was axed at the last minute because the rights to the song weren’t cleared in time for US audiences.

Susan was left with just two hours to rehearse a new song but decided it wasn't enough time and told organisers she wouldn't be taking to the stage.

A source said at the time: “Susan was really upset. She was in tears and was forced to pull out of the show, and decided to return to the UK.”

Susan’s scheduled appearance on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ will be her second performance on the series. Last year, she sang her signature track ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, from the musical ‘Les Miserables’.
