Free gigs are a must! If you are lucky enough to be able to review gigs, whether you get paid or not, it is always refreshing to go to a gig where you will be brought back down to earth, a gig where everyone gets in for free.

The simple antidote of your head being up in the clouds with too many press passes to shake a stick at, is to go to a pub providing a jam session by a band in their 50s, which is age, not style. This means you can go and not have to think about it afterwards. It is a great way to relax a worried mind. I joined them because I was in a flat next door to where they were playing and I figured if you can't beat them, join them. I grabbed the first camera to hand and ordered an orange juice. Tasty.
