Shopping Frenzy

Mat's gone off to London this week and the office is a whole different place without him. First of all we can play Christmas carols woo hoo. We're not allowed to do that when Mat's here, he forces us to listen to Daniel Beddingfield. Secondly, my work isn't interrupted every two minutes by having to go and make tea for him….er, that's about it really.

Anyway, you may or may have not noticed but it's nearly Christmas. What is it about Christmas that makes everyone go mental? I walked into a certain high street store (who's name I won't mention because it's a shithole) at 11 am on a weekday and it was rammed. Why are these people not in work? (FYI, I was on my way to work). I thought we were in the middle of an economic crisis , that we were all in a recession or something. What have I missed? The shops are heaving! I mean, is it really necessary to buy as much as people do? Newsflash – the shops are only actually closed for one day over Christmas and that day is Christmas Day. Unfortunately, it is a sad fact that the shops would still be open on Christmas Day, if they could get away with it. Although, to be fair the shops wouldn't open unless people were going in and buying stuff. So who are these poeple that go shopping on Boxing Day and New Year's Day? Grrr… My advice is get a grip this Christmas, spend less time shopping and more time going to gigs. Oh, look here's lots of gig suggestion for you:

The Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster in London and Liverpool. The very last and final Dickensian Disco in Manchester is also our Manc Crimbo show. 20th Dec at Bumper is Club Glasswerk’s Liverpool Christmas show (line-up to be confirmed). Bobbie Peru @ Jabez Clegg in Manchester. Then we also have the 2 day, 3 stage Festivus MMVIII on the 27, 28th Dec @ Barfly, Liverpool. I haven’t even looked at London’s diary yet either… and I am assuming they have a couple of festive gigs happening.

What else is better than shopping?…our website.
