Angered record labels have questioned the logic in Prince's decision to release his latest record on the front of The Daily Mail.
Paul Quirk, co-chairman of the ERA, said Prince's decision to give away the album was, “an insult to all those record stores who have supported Prince throughout his career,”
One of the largest recording artists in pop, Prince has sold out 21 dates in London for this October and September and will still receive a fee plus a royalty payment of nearly £500,000 from the newspaper for the rights to give away his new album. The publisher will pick up the £750,000 costs of printing and promoting the CD.
Apparently the concert goers will also receive copies of the CD as yet unnamed.
Doesn't sound like bad deal Prince.
