Blur reunited!

Alex James, former Blur-bassist, has revealed his hopes for a reunification of the Brit-pop band for one final album.

During the 90s Blur enjoyed huge success with chart-topping albums Parklife, The Great Escape, Blur, and 13. They were famous for being cheeky English chaps vying with Oasis for the Britpop crown and innovative indie pop songs. Their last album, Think Tank, was released in 2003 after the departure of guitarist Graham Coxon in 2002. Coxon now has 7 solo albums under his belt, whilst singer Damon Albarn has ventured on various music projects including Gorrilaz and The Good, The Bad and The Queen.

But now Blur fans will be excited to hear that the four piece may get back together, with James telling the BBC “I've got high hopes that Blur will have a happy four-piece ending,” he explains. “I think it would be a shame if it didn't, really.

“I think we'd all like to make another record. We'd all like to do it with Graham.”

“One way or the other, there'll be another Blur album, with or without Graham – but hopefully with Graham. I think it's definitely worth trying.”

Talking of new revivals, James will join Konnie Huq to present a new monthly version of 1980s music show The Tube. The show will be aired this Friday at 6pm on Channel 4 radio.
