Liverpool solo artist John Devine brings together a promising collection of songs. The six acoustic songs are put together consideratly, in the vein of singer-songwriters such as Leonard Cohen and James Morrison. JD lyrically paints pictures of life and lost love for us. Although, unlike other male singers in this genre he isn’t as sickly sweet as someone like James Blunt for example. This gives JD more of an edge to his acoustic tune and makes him quite refreshing to listen to.
