There’s an air of discord that runs through Young Blood, single from the Panama Kings, which really sets it apart. Jerky guitar couplets and brashly delivered lyrics overlay simple dance rhythms, leading to a nonchalant yet engaging sound.
B-side I don’t want to die is the single’s equal, with a quicker tempo, great use of synth and a vocal camouflage equal to Caleb Followill.
A quartet from Northern Ireland, the Panama Kings have been slowly building a name for themselves in live performances in and around Belfast. On the strength of this single they should continue to rise, both on the billboard and in the public’s consciousness.
