A debauched, infectious offering from London-based rock n’ roll pioneers, Slaves to Gravity.
Showcasing the finest and filthiest elements of classic rock melodrama, “Mr. Regulator” skilfully updates this old school formula with a generous dose of modern accessibility. A distinctly more subdued offering, “Power Lines” is an emotive, angst-tainted piece bursting with soaring solos and intricate refrains.
Having risen phoenix-like from the ashes of The Ga Ga’s in 2006, Slaves To Gravity have painstakingly reworked their style whilst successfully maintaining the outrageous intensity of their past, sleaze-ridden sound.
Not so much a drastic transformation as a revision of the band’s former, more naïve origins, “Mr. Regulator” illustrates both commercial viability and gripping ingenuity.
