There are 7 tracks on this latest instalment that need to be appreciated. They are as follows:
Disk One:
* Roots Manuva – Seat yourself (feat Ricky Ranking): This is the first track that has chilled me to the core, its menacing, rough and above all beautifully constructed.
* Bonobo – Nightlite ( feat Bajka- zero dB reconstruction): Drum and Bass meets Portishead. Brilliant.
Disk Two:
* Roots Manuva – Chin High ( Manvadelics version): Urban realism without the bullshit then add a little 80s surrealism and your there.
* DJ Shadow – Bring Madlib Up: This track layers upon layer to form one confusing mish mash of organised chaos. Fab
Disk Three:
* RJD2 – True confessions: Conceptual music which continues to keep the underground exactly that. Beautiful instrumental in the first half of the track.
* Ty – Wait a minute: Sexy, fresh and catchy. This is the most commercial of my selection but that’s not a negative. If it breaks away from some of the current bullshit in commercial music today then that can only be for the best.
