The Soundabout – Underground.

The Soundabout make sunny Californian pop music, taking influences from The Beach Boys, Beatles and The Shins. Underground, though repetitive, retains the cute sing-a-long aesthetic of the classic 60s sound, which is something that singer Daniel Cleland wanted to recreate. The Things You Love is a downbeat toe tapper which recreates an almost Jack Johnson-ny feel. This is not necessarily a good thing, yet it works. You’ve Got A Lot can only be described as nice, the song is practically made for the person with an acoustic guitar at a party. The Shins’ influence is most evident in this song, with a psychedelic background and slow pace. The Soundabout have achieved everything in their songs that they set out to- 60s style lo-fi pop music.
