Hit & Run Tour

Five Days, Five Shows, Three Bands. The Birmingham Music Scene is going National! For years of living in the shadows of London & Manchester, three Brummie bands are to show the UK Birmingham's wealth of musical talent. And this is all thanks to “Robannas Recording & Rehearsal Studios”.

What?

Robannas is the largest Recording & Rehearsal complex in the Midlands. For years it has been the favoured base of many of Birmingham & the Midlands' up & coming talents. For example; Ocean Colour Scene, Pop Will Eat Itself, Robert Plant, Babylon Zoo, Napalm Death & many many more have been based at the studios. Now it is helping to launch 3 of Birmingham's Best onto the national scene by organising this five date 'Hit & Run' national tour.

Why?

Because unsigned bands get little physical support within the industry and the studios feel that we can use our knowledge of the industry to aid them. Robannas is also producing a 6 track EP to support the tour, featuring 2 tracks from each band, which is to be released on the 1st date of the tour (Monday 25th November).

And the bands are???!!!!

Ego So So; An alternative rock group from urban Birmingham. Screaming vocals and guitars is their forte. You can't help but listen to them, fixing themselves as the next evolution from bands such as The Vines and The Hives. They've been together since 1998 and have grown in musicianship to take them to grand heights. They Played at Radio One Live in Birmingham last October where Steve Lamaq viewed them, and received a review for a previous unreleased EP in NME in February.

Jinja; A guitar driven Rock/Pop quartet from North Birmingham. Formed in May 2001 they have raised themselves to prominence in both the Birmingham & Liverpool music Scenes, playing Universities and Outdoor Festivals. In the past they have worked with some influential people from The Sisters of Mercy to Mick Hopkins (one of Birmingham's Granddaddies of rock), and their singer even performed at The Top Of The Pops Awards in December with 'Westlife'!!!

Vender; With the lyrical poignancy of Coldplay, and the crunchy guitar riffs of Ash, Vender have already made a name for themselves. When they were formerly called 'Dropknee' they won the Xfm Unsigned band of the year competition, for which they got to record in Abbey Road Studios. With a huge buzz around them in the music industry this could be their last set of dates as an unsigned group.

The Tour Commences on Monday 25th November and the agenda is as follows:

Mon 25th Dublin Castle, Camden, London
Tues 26th Zanzibar, Liverpool
Weds 27th Casbah, Sheffield
Thurs 28th Star & Garter, Manchester
Fri 29th Flapper & Firkin, Birmingham
