The publication contains 4000 directory entries (over 450 pages) relating to all aspects of the music industry with specific relevance to unsigned bands and musicians; including record labels, publishing companies, management companies and unsigned venues, along with information on more practical services such as lawyers, insurance providers, printers and vehicle hire. Section forewords offering bands advice on the music industry are written by music industry professionals and the Musicians' Union. Unlike any other music industry directory, every one of the 4,000 entries in The Unsigned Guide has been researched specifically for unsigned artists. For example, each of the 500 UK Record Company listings include demo submission policies and information on their preferred genre of music as well as important A&R contact details.
