Elbow have been holed-up in Parr Street studios in Liverpool with producer Ben Hillier recording their follow-up to 2000's gold-selling, Brit and Mercury nominated debut “Asleep in the Back”, and have revealed that it will feature guest appearances from Doves' Jimi Goodwin and jaunty folksters Alfie. The as yet untitled LP will be released by V2 on 18th August, preceded by a single on August 4th, and they're giving their fans a chance to appear on the album!
Elbow are keen to talk to fans who witnessed their 2001 appearance at Glastonbury as they have the chance to see their name on the new LP. The track, “Grace Under Pressure” from the new LP, features the Glastonbury crowd singing “We still believe in love, so fuck you” as recorded by the band during the show. Elbow are asking fans who were there to go to their website at elbow.co.uk and register their name to make sure that they are on the artwork for the LP.
In addition, subscribers to the website will soon be receiving their interactive screensaver. This unique intelligent screensaver allows direct access to all the areas of the website and also changes day on day, allowing the subscriber to access new features and see exclusive visuals in the Elbow virtual studio. To make sure that they get the screensaver, all fans have to do is register at the site.
