PLACEBO are set to release a special edition, 2 disc, version of their 'Sleeping With Ghosts' album through Hut Recordings on September 22nd. Disc 1 features all the original tracks from the album including triumphant singles 'The Bitter End', 'This Picture' and their new single 'Special Needs' (released 15th September). Disc 2 is a cover album that features songs as diverse as the as yet unreleased version of Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill' and Serge Gainsbourg's 'The Ballad Of Melody Nelson'. The original version of the album is fast approaching 1 million sales worldwide in only 4 months and has recently achieved gold status in the UK.

Since releasing the original version of the album back in March of this year, when they played a sold out UK tour including a London Astoria and two Brixton Academy's, selling out even faster than before. The band have since embarked on the first leg of their world tour taking Europe, the US, Australasia in their stride before setting their sights on Asia in early 2004.
The band return to the UK as the third headline act on the main stage at the Reading and Leeds Festival this weekend. October brings another sold out European Arena Tour culminating in an 18,000 capacity sell out at The Bercy in Paris. Love them or hate them it is hard to deny that PLACEBO are still a world conquering force with the longevity last year's big thing can only dream of.
