Mailbu Stacey Serve Up Some Cocktails

After a protracted absence from the circuit, another member of defunct Bradford band Terrorvision jumps back on the Rock n Roll Horse this Spring with a brand new band, Malibu Stacey. Leigh Marklew, former bassist with the Bradford rockers, has teamed up with Kes Loy, formerly of fellow Bradford band Leafeater, to create a band of freshness and joy and snot and volume. Completing the line up is Chris Bussey on drums and South Yorkshire export Jonny Wilson on vocals. Leigh, Kes and Chris worked in rehearsals as a 3 piece from October 2002 and, after auditioning several singers, the line up was finalised at the start of this year with the addition of Jonny…who came complete with the required amount of freshness and joy and snot and volume!

Starting with the songs Leigh had been writing since Terrorvision split up in October 2001, the rest of the Malibu Stacey crew have pitched in to add their songs to the roster and now the band are ready to spill out onto the live circuit.

The band have already recorded 12 songs in the studio and have put together 2 promotional only CD’s. The first ‘Cuatro discos de Stomp’ is an 4 track ep featuring ‘Grade A Fellini’, ‘Rockstar’, ‘Fool’ and ‘Medicine’. To follow up is a 2 tracker featuring a cover of the Kiss classic ‘I Was Made For Lovin’ You’ backed with a slab of metal mayhem that is ‘We Rokkin’. An album will follow…

Malibu Stacey will be apprearing at the Inconvenience Store night at the Zanibar Club on Tuesday 23rd September. Day With Mary, Atonal and Pistachio Fiends support.
