Aa vs NYC – the Big Showdown

So, What's it all about, then?
As a Manchester based record label that proudly advocates all things seminal, we felt it was our duty to present something a little different. So, dig out your earplugs, as we crank up the volume in a debut show-down between aKouStiK AnaRKhY & our Anti-Folk cousins from over the water in New York.

What can I expect this time?
We've put together a combined bill, made up of a couple of the best acts that we have to offer, who are up against two of the best acts to hit the stage at the legendary Sidewalk Café in New York. They are :

Thomas Truax (NYC) – With an array of amazing self made instruments (including the ever popular “Hornicator”) and a style that's all of his own, Thomas is making a welcome return to the UK after 2 successful visits earlier this year. Catch him now before it's impossible to do so.

LOOSE CANON (aA) – The most seminal band around, recently described as “like Joy Division hugging ELO in a field full of daffodils”, these guys are the brains behind everything that begins with an aA & have a healthy obsession with The Beach Boys. True pioneers of twisted melodic beauty.

Schwervon! (NYC) – Tongues in cheeks, buzzing guitars, crashing drums, punky-poppy fun, what more could the discerning, good-time music fan possibly want? Their brilliant “Quick Frozen Small Yellow Cracker” album is currently available on Shoeshine Records & has received brilliant reviews in the national press over here.

The Soft Priest (aA) – Live & direct from his amazing “Mobile Confessional”, prepare to have your mind blown to pieces by a DJ whose tastes vary from madcap genius to totally unlistenable.
