Another Charidee Gig Mate

Some of Sheffield’s most promising young talent are banding together for a unique event to help give children a brighter Christmas. Four up and coming local groups are to stage a concert at the City Hall on December 18 in aid of less fortunate youngsters.

The organisers believe the gig entitled ‘Made in Sheffield’ could be the last of its kind before the builders move in to remodel the famous premises. And they’re planning to make it a real night to remember.

“It’s a great opportunity to be in at the start before these bands get really famous” says organiser Barney Vernon, who’s hoping they will follow in the footsteps of another local group, ‘Boy On A Dolphin’ whose City Hall concert was a sell-out last year.

The four bands The Moon, Skydiva, Dead Like Harry, and The Still have teamed up with the promoters from The Boardwalk on Snig Hill, Chris Wilson, Bryn Slack and Barney to bring you something very special this Christmas !! The aim is also to show that unsigned quality rock bands from the Sheffield Region can fill the City Hall. Each member of the audience is asked to bring a toy which will be passed on to Children’s Charities for Christmas.

Sheffield’s future stars rock for children at Christmas

“Most of us take it for granted that children will have a smile on their face on Christmas Day,” says Barney Vernon. “Sadly that’s not the case for too many children and that’s why we’re determined to make this concert a success.”

“Made in Sheffield” takes place at Sheffield City Hall on Thursday December 18th.
