NME confirm FFaF as Headliners

Funeral For A Friend will headline what's set to be the wildest NME Awards tour yet. The string of dates in February across the UK promises an eclectic and volatile brew where literally anything could happen.

The line-up will be completed by The Rapture, The Von Blondies and Franz Ferdinand. The NME Awards Tour has always been a chance to throw some of the hottest new bands together on a blistering bill and watch sparks fly.

This years NME Awards Tour will be hotter than ever with four of the most exciting scenes in music; with Franz Ferdinand representing the Britpack, The Von Bondies flying the Detroit flag and The Rapture bringing disco back to life.

But in the year that hardcore morphed into Extremo and took the world, NME has secured the services of the scene's heroes, Funeral For A Friend – in their biggest headline appearances yet.

With 60,000 album sales in the UK (after just one month!), two top 20 singles, and numerous triumphant sold-out UK headline tours, Funeral For A Friend are as exciting as music gets right now.

February 12 sees the star-studded NME Awards in central London, and as is traditional, The NME Awards Tour will tear across the UK to bring the party out to the people.

Funeral singer Matt Davies said: “There's gonna be a lot of energy and a lot of honest passion. We're just five guys from The Valleys really, rocking it, showing that there's a little bit more to British music than jingly jangly rock. There's a little bit of balls there. Balls hanging out everywhere!”

Conor McNicholas, editor of NME, said: “This will be an amazing tour, full of bad behaviour, attitude and Rock n' Roll. Music fans should be really excited about this one – it's gonna be big!”
