Single release – February 23rd, 2004
Stellastarr* kick off the new year in fine style with the long awaited release of 'My Coco'. Their album has already been heralded as something of a classic debut by the likes of Time Out, NME, Observer Music Monthly and Q. 'My Coco' will be the band's third single after 'Somewhere Across Forever' and 'Jenny' (both NME Single Of The Week).
Stellastarr* ended 2003 having made one of the most promising debut album's of the year ( “This assured, intense record heralds the emergence of a major force” Q, 'Messy seductive stuff, go lose yourself' Mojo). Their eponymous record found it's way into the NME's Top 50 albums of the year and was No 3 in Logo's year end chart. 'My Coco' (Produced by Tim O'Heir) is a clear stand out and long time live favourite. It demonstrates stellastarr* at their volatile yet ebullient pop best and promises to be their biggest record yet.
Following the band's triumphant sold out appearance at the Islington Academy in November (“On this evidence, Stellastarr's rule will be long, prosperous and brilliant” The Fly) stellastarr* will return to the UK for their biggest tour to date commencing 28th February in Sheffield. Supporton all dates comes from Las Vegas' The Killers. Prior to this the band play the London Astoria on February 8th on a bill with the Raveonettes as part of the NME Awards Shows before heading into main land Europe with Serafin.
