There are NO MOUNTAINS in Liverpool

Liverpool band, Mountaineers, have announced details of a UK headline tour in March 2004, coinciding with the release of their new single, 'I Gotta Sing', on 22nd March 2004.

The tour follows the second of Mountaineers' Hot Trees events, this time at the Electrowerkz in London, on Thursday 26th February. With a line up boasting the likes of The Zutons and Aidan Smith live plus DJing from Andrew Weatherall and The Bees (full line up below) and after the recent success of their Liverpool event, Mountaineers are likely to be announcing new Hot Trees events across the country in the near future.

The 9 date UK tour starts in Liverpool on 20th March at the opening of new club night, Ramshackle at the Academy 2, and sees the band in London on 22nd March for a show at the Islington Academy and at the Cardiff Barfly on the 26th March before the final date in Leicester on 28th March.

Mountaineers play at the Glasgow Tramway on the 29th April at this year's Triptych festival as special guests to an unannounced headliner alongside M-craft and Adem.

The new single, 'I Gotta Sing', is released on 22nd March on CD and 7″. The CD features exclusive new Mountaineers tracks whilst the 7″ features a wonderful psychedelic remix of 'Belgique Limb' by Lex Records producer Boom Bip.

On 18th February, Mountaineers will be very special guests of The Bees at London's ULU.
