We are a bit late but the video to the new single by The Streets 'Fit But You Know It' can be seen for the first time ever exclusively at link from last week. The website will also be the first port of call for further exclusives charting the return of Mr Mike Skinner.
“I reckon you’re about an eight or a nine, maybe even nine and a half in four beers’ time”
Mike Skinner, brainchild behind the quintessential album of 2002 ‘Original Pirate Material’, returns with his first new single in nearly two years, the girls n guitar romp ‘Fit But You Know It’ released April 16th 2004.
Taken from the forthcoming album ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ it sees Mike grab the opportunity to rock out, creating the track’s glam-rock signature riff on his mate’s Fender Telecaster. So, far from a mangled sample from the glam-rock vaults, it provides the perfect accompaniment to the hectic tale of the holiday chase, itself assisted by his good friend Stella and a fine view of that girl in the tight blue top.
With an accompanying video that captures the track’s mood perfectly coming to a channel near you soon, the spirit of The Streets runs as potent as ever, with ideas as fresh as they come and sounding as unique and uplifting as those first listens to OPM proved.
