Delaney to Support 'Teen Spirit' at Academy 3

Chorlton, funkadelic, rockers Delaney are delighted to announce their first gig appearance at The Academy 3 in Manchester, on Friday 30th April 2004. The Academy 3 is part of the Manchester University Student Union on Oxford Road, Central Manchester.

They will support Teen Spirit, an acclaimed Australian Nirvana tribute show, who are currently on a world tour to commemorate the 10th year anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death. Naked Lounge are the other support band on the bill of what promises to be a memorable night.

With their now trademark highly emotive and enthusiastic live show, Delaney come armed with tales of urban Northern soul wrapped in a compact package of soaring guitars and gravely harmonies.

Previously, Delaney have supported The Mock Turtles, X is Greater Than Y and RAM and have played at venues throughout the UK and Ireland. A couple of Academy warm up gigs have been confirmed; 14th April at The Barfly, Liverpool and 21st April at Night and Day, Manchester. Tickets for the Academy 3 gig will be available to buy at these two gigs.

In September 2003, the ‘Highlight Of Your Day’ EP was released on Magic Touch Music, this is still available to buy now from magictouchmusic.co.uk. Delaney are currently putting finishing touches to their new recordings, watch out for a new release planned for May.
